Cadbury Creme Egg, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment '24' and Codemasters are the first advertisers to be broadcast on ROK's free mobile TV service
United Kingdom (7th February 2008): ROK Entertainment Group Inc. (OTCBB: ROKE), the global mobile entertainment group, announces the first advertisers on it's free mobile TV service, FreeBe TV, are Cadbury Creme Egg, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment '24' and Codemasters.
FreeBe TV is subscription-free, multi-channel mobile TV streamed over 2.5G, 3G and wi-fi and is available via Nokia Video Center on the N95 and 8GB handsets.
"FreeBe TV offers a combination of live and on-demand mobile TV and is aimed at the ever-increasing number of people who have a data package included in their mobile tariff" said Laurence Alexander, Group CEO of ROK "and with Nokia promoting the service, supported by our world-class brand-name advertisers, we expect to reach millions of regular viewers worldwide over the next few months."
"The key aspect to mobile advertising is to engage with the viewer rather than alienate him" added Alexander "as the tolerance for irrelevant advertising on mobile phones is considerably less than on any other medium. After all, people watch mobile TV for just a few minutes at a time."
"Cadbury have been investigating mobile opportunities for 2008 where relevant, acknowledging that this is a media platform that cannot be disregarded" Amber Williamson, Starcom Mediavest Group.
Russell Watts of Vizeum, Fox Home Entertainment's agency agrees. "Mobile is a platform that you cannot ignore. This is a great opportunity for us and the 24 brand to be involved in."
Daniel Feane, Head of Business Development at Codemasters' digital creative agency, Collective says: "Branded rich media experiences on mobile are a great opportunity for clients to target and engage specific consumer groups. Collective see mobile as a growing channel for brand experiences in 2008."
Utarget's CEO Phil Cooper said, "With our experience in online video advertising this is an obvious step for us. It is all about working with great brands and targeting the users on whichever platform they are on. Let's face it, everybody has a mobile phone."
FreeBe TV will carry approximately 10 seconds of advertising per channel in an unbroken video stream of up to 10 minutes.
